Vick an intriguing idea for Bears QB
Chicago Sun-Times | January 06, 2009
Now that general manager Jerry Angelo has established quarterback as the Bears' highest priority, I'm thinking about Michael Vick. He's scheduled to be released from prison July 20, and he has made it clear he wants to resume his football career. He's an intriguing possibility for a team in search of quarterback help. I wonder if this town could forgive his crimes.
Rivera getting latest laugh
Chicago Sun-Times | January 05, 2009
The NFL's wild-card weekend was a wonderful time for defensive coordinators. Each winning team had a sound game plan contrived by a coach with an excellent reputation: Arizona's Clancy Pendergast, San Diego's Ron Rivera, Baltimore's Rex Ryan and Philadelphia's Jim Johnson.
With proper moves, Bears can get back to playoffs
Chicago Sun-Times | January 04, 2009
When Lovie Smith looks back on a season of missed opportunities and says the Bears are close, hes right. Theyre a heck of a lot closer to competing for the postseason in 2009 than anyone considered the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens or Atlanta Falcons to be in 2008. Those three are in a group of seven teams to reach the playoffs that didnt do so a year ago, and they made up the most ground by far.
